Cate Masters is one of my favorite authors. With a few deft strokes she can
paint an entire world,
a world I would happily spend hours enjoying. My advice to those new to this
author: Don't waste any more time.
Get reading. You're in for a treat.

The Lure of the Vine
Do you like a little mythology in your books? Then here is a good one for you.
A nice SPICY read that is titillating, sexy and an ending that makes the journey worth the trip :)
What a wonderful little read that is not the typical Harry met Sally,
I enjoyed the drama, the lust and the issues right until the bitter end.
This is not the first book of Ms Masters that I have been fortunate enough to read
and let me just say that it won't be the last :).

Wilderness Girl
I loved this story for one main reason- it's why I love romances. The story was so fun.
It was also filled with hot and steamy sex scenes, and the figuring out how this relationship will work stuff.
I always think I like longer books, but the length on this one was just right.
Enough to read in one sitting, but filled with everything I needed or wanted to know.
Ms. Masters can write a story filled with all the ingredients for a good erotic, romance in my book.

The story is fun, and the main characters are well matched and sweet together.
It mixes a little humor and romance together into a snappy and readable package
that will leave the reader with a smile
as well as a renewed belief in happily ever after.
Book Wenches
The heroine is intelligent and resilient. The hero is sexy and charming.
And the political background made for an exciting source of external conflict.

Wow! Talk about a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
I was so captured by these characters and this plot. I had to know what was going to happen next.
I had to keep reading until I found out the fate of these two characters.
Ms. Masters has given us another masterpiece.
She has given us another story to stay up way past our bedtime to read.

LASR's 4.5 book review
Cate Masters took this plot and worked it into a great work even though it was not a long book.
This story covered so much territory and was so compelling I did not want to put it down.
It was as if I was there watching the story unfold. The conflict was great.
The sexual encounters were sizzling and the ending was unexpected.
There were moments of poignant emotional conflict.
I liked this book and would recommend it to everyone.
The Romance Studio's 4.5 book review
Fast paced and well written, this book is a really good summer read
and to let you know that romance is still alive and can happen when you least expect it.
What happens is what storybook romances are made of
and what everyone hopes for in their lives.
But, you will have to read this romantic and heartwarming novel
to learn just when and why Allison realizes she might have met the right man,
and why Wes made sure to meet her on that fateful flight.

One Soul for Sale
This story was really a different kind of story for me
"What I liked most about this book is that it has an unpredictable ending, LIBERATION VIA PEN is a great story. Cate Masters does an exceptional job working out her plot. I thoroughly enjoyed this short story! This little gem is an
absolute delight. It's quite unususal
in that it's a first person, present tense narrative, and this gives it an
wonderful immediacy. I felt I was right
there with Melinda, sharing her frustration that her student
doesn't seem to hear her, her anxiety that if she doesn't
succeed with him she might lose her muse status – and the heat she
feels when a certain duende is near her. Cate Masters puts
words together in a way that is almost poetic, and brings the magic
of her world to life. It's a delightful,
quick and fun read and I can thoroughly recommend it. Hywela Lyn, author The Duende and the Muse by Cate Masters was awe-inspiring. The Duende and the Muse may be short, but it is well written The author weaves a great tale with a creative way of using words Cinderella
Dreams (are tough to shake)
that had me thinking about how the story could possibly turn out with a happy ending.
Yes, I must confess I am a happy ending kind of person.
I can't let you know if it has the HEA or not, that's for you to find out,
but I can say you will be entertained on your way through this book.
The writing style made me feel as though I were a part of the story
instead of someone on the outside looking in.
I was pulled into the story and couldn't stop until I hit the last page.
The ending by the way ..... OUTSTANDING! I loved it!
One Soul for Sale was filled with action scenes which made it a riveting story.
Ms. Masters has done an outstanding job with One Soul for Sale

I recommend this book to anyone who wants an exciting read

The empowerment displayed towards the end was uplifting.

The Duende and The Muse
Melinda's hopeful ideals were consistent, if a bit misguided,
and Devon's contrasting style added excitement.
The characters were believable, and the settings were described clearly and were easy to visualize.
I applauded Melinda's defense of her student and was pleased that she was secure enough to listen to Devon's very different ideas.
This was a very nice story, easy to read, and enjoyable all the way through.

A muse wasn't able to accomplish a task in four months,
but when working together with a Duende,
the task was complete in a short amount of days.
I love how Cate Masters could make two opposites work together...

that makes the story refreshing to read.
It sparkles and fizzes with energy
and the dialogue is sparky and natural.
WDRF, Memorable Good
Cate Masters blows me away with this spicy-sweet story.
Lilah and Val are our very complimenting female roles,
while the handsome bartender James takes up out male lead.
Lilah and Val seem like the kind of friends that can argue and still laugh about it later.
They are both very relatable. Lilah is our main character but seems so real
you feel like you have known her for ages. As James tries to cut off ties
with the people around him Lilah finds her way into his heart.
This is a read that will leave you on the edge of your seat.
The deep and powerful setting of this story had me wiping away tears
while cheering James on. Cate has a great story on her hands with this.
WDRF (Memorable Good rating)
The characters in this book were very relatable with emotions that are very real and strike at your deeper emotions.
Lilah's character wanted something more than she wanted to breathe at times and that something was James.
How do you take the hurt away from someone when at first they don't want you to pity them?
It wasn't pity she felt for James, it was a forever kind of love.
I don't want to give away anything in this book but I can say that the situations that arose were brilliant
on the writer's behalf. This book brought about emotions that I found refreshing. I almost cried a time or two.
Don't get me wrong, I would not classify this as a sad book as they were tears of joy!
I would have loved to see this book as a longer version or, perhaps, we could talk Ms. Masters into a sequel
that takes us a bit further into the relationship of Lilah and James. I also would love to see Val have her own story.
Cate Masters is a gifted writer who wrote this book with talent and marvelous imagery.
I could almost see, taste, hear and touch what was occurring in "Seventh Heaven."

"Seventh Heaven" is the book for you. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Masters' work.

"...it left me wanting more. It relates to true life, while leading one to

- Mary Jo Gorman, NJ
With the proliferation of fantasy over the past few years, it's refreshing to
see how Masters uses a very real setting
and circumstances to begin her story. Nearly all of us can relate to being
'down on our luck' these days
and that moment when you need to return to your home, whether by choice or in
desperation (as AJ did.)
Like AJ, we sometimes find that things are not as they seemed when we were
younger.
With a hint of mystery and great characterization, I am looking forward to
reading the rest of this novel!
- Michael J. Strouse, New York City
Interesting Premise: The combination of a rocker wannabe, a crotchety old
Grandpa and the mesmerizing image of mermaids set in a sweltering
Florida backwater is irresistible. The writing is vivid, and after the first
20, had me asking the question: do mermaids exist,
at least in this well written story, and if so, will AJ rediscover his soul
right at the moment in time he believes his hope
has vanished along with his dreams? Masters weaves a bit of magic in her prose
and I'm interested in following AJ as he navigates
the uncertain waters of youthful ambition, family ties and lessons learned from
a creature as beguiling and mysterious as a mermaid.
- Ann Correnti, PA
Clever Urban Fantasy: Cate Masters weaves a fallen guitarist, a standoffish
grandfather, a kitschy town, and the promise of mermaids
into a tight tapestry of a promising tale. Her first 20 pages build a solid
base that moves the story forward while delivering prose
that's a pleasure to read. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this
story!
- Mike Silvestri, PA, Author of Lazy
Dog Mystery series
You can go home again: Cate Masters paints the perfect picture of a young adult
trying to find himself while moving into his
old school grandfather's home. Her prose draws me in and makes me hunger for
more. Well written.
- Dennis Royer, PA, Author of Perry
County mystery series
Wow! Hunting for a real-life mermaid? What's not to like about this beautifully
written fantasy?
AJ shows up on his grandfather's doorstep, messed up and uncertain about life,
with only one true love--his music.
As he works to put his life back together and forge tentative bonds with the
old man, he learns an amazing secret.
But, is his grandfather telling the truth about seeing a real mermaid?
Cate Masters does a "master"ful job of describing the setting and
making readers care about AJ.
Will he follow in his grandfather's footsteps to find and love a mermaid? Can't
wait to read on to find out.
